Paralegal Program Overview

Sumner College offers two program options for Paralegal Studies:

  1. Associate of Applied Science Degree (60 weeks on campus or 70 weeks online): 6 or 7 Terms
  2. Paralegal Diploma Program (40 weeks): 4 Terms

The program at Sumner College can help prepare you to enter the legal field, assisting attorneys in a variety of areas. You will study the basic foundation and structure of the American legal system and become proficient with the litigation and legal research process. Coursework will also teach you the use of computer programs as they apply to the practice of law. Many of our instructors are attorneys working in the field or have worked in the legal field. They know what employers are looking for and can help you learn the skills you need to succeed upon graduation.

The 40 week diploma program is ideal for students that already possess a degree from an accredited institution or have completed prior college-level coursework or related work experience. An assessment test must be completed prior to enrollment in our paralegal studies program.
