How Does the Student Services Department Support Students?

New Student orientation is held prior to the first day of class so students are prepared and familiar with the college.

Assist with the development of cover letters, and résumés.

Teach proper formatting for business letters and professional emails.

Assist in the interview process from the submission of online applications, to mock interviews, and professional appearance. Debriefing is completed with the student at the end of the process.

Locate Internships and Externships opportunities by networking with local employers.

Coordinate tutoring sessions (Individuals or Groups).

Host Guest Speakers

- Relationships with local area businesses and staffing agencies. -
Students and graduates are also given tips and strategies for using all available resources so they can also search on their own time.

Promote the utilization of networking opportunities, including social networking.

Students have access to a variety of career and industry articles and reading material. - An Occupational Library is developed and maintained.
Additional Services:

Utilize available resources to assist students with finding part-time jobs while they are in school as long as it does not disrupt academic progress. (*This does not guarantee a student will have a job while in school)

Assistance with organizing transportation and living arrangements (i.e. housing and finding roommates).

Finding social services such as: TANF, Medical Services, etc.
