Job Description:

The Student Placement Representative is responsible acquiring and maintaining clinical sites for clinical and preceptorship experiences. The clinical coordinator works in cooperation with the program director, faculty, preceptors, and coordinators to prepare, place, monitor, supervise and evaluate students participating in their clinical and preceptorship experiences. This coordinator will identify, evaluate, contract with, and visit clinical sites on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Health Care Sector
  • Working knowledge of MS Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to interpret and explain preceptorship policies and procedures
  • Computer skills – software & keyboarding required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to display positive and professional attitude to students, staff, sites and faculty

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manages affiliation agreements for every active site
  • Place students in their clinical externship/practicum experience
  • Attend community meetings and networking opportunities to promote the college
  • Locating and evaluating new potential clinical sites
  • Works with sites in a cooperative effort to provide smooth and effective experiences for students.
  • Properly responding to any issues that arise while the student is completing his/her preceptorship
  • Creating and fostering an atmosphere that is conducive to a high level of learning and student retention
  • Performs structured orientations for all students entering their preceptorship
  • Maintains ongoing communication with site supervisors
  • Make site visits as necessary
  • Provides instruction and advising to students in accordance with policies and procedures of the site and of the college
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments
  • Travel to clinical and preceptor sites is required, both in the area and outside of the area, if necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with academic and regulatory requirements
  • Adheres to practical nursing faculty policies
  • Continued professional development in filed in which assigned to teach
  • Serving as a role model to other faculty and students
