Student & Career Services Representative

Position: Student & Career Services Representative

Supervisor: President

The Student and Career Services Representative has responsibility in the areas of completing acceptances interviews for new students, ensuring accuracy of student recordings in regards to identifying career objectives, familiarizing students with scholarship opportunities, assisting with student orientation, job placement, academic advisement, co-curricular activities, survey acquisition from key stakeholders, and other general academic and career success guidance services

Duties of Student & Career Services Representative:

  • Support graduate placement and maintain consistent communication with graduates
  • Acquire employment verification upon placement to maintain positive outcomes for accreditation reporting
  • Send out employment opportunities regularly to students and graduates
  • Provide support and advising for at risk students
  • Assist students in effective problem-solving, self-advocacy, decision making, and personal responsibility to support students’ ability to persist.
  • Consistent outreach to employers to cultivate strong employer connections
  • Create and conduct student success and career readiness workshops for students
  • Help organize and execute on campus activities for students and graduates to promote student success such as career fairs and student appreciation events
  • Help students create resumes, cover letters, thank you notes, and social media profiles
  • Teach students to search for job opportunities and apply for job postings online
  • Conduct panel, acceptance, and exit interviews with students
  • Manage a portfolio of active students and conduct regular touchpoints with assigned students
  • Monitor and compile end of program surveys, graduate satisfaction surveys and employer satisfaction surveys
  • Coordinate and participate in the student leadership group
  • Help create marketing materials and advertise student and graduate events
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Specifications of Student & Career Services Representative:

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Proficient internet research skills
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills required
  • Team player with demonstrated customer services skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise good decision making skills

Education and Qualifications of Student & Career Services Representative:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience working with students preferred
  • Prior experience working in post-secondary education
  • Experience working in career services Job Type: Full-time
