Successful graduates of the Sumner College Practical Nursing program make a smooth transition from students to working health care professionals after training in our hands-on environment. Our instructors are medical professionals working in the field so they know exactly what skills students need to succeed in today’s health care setting. Students gain the first-hand knowledge and practical skills that current industry employers are looking for.

Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to apply to the Oregon State Board of Nursing to sit for the national licensure exam for practical nurses (NCLEX-PN). The program director, nursing faculty, and college support staff are available every step of the way on your journey to help you succeed.
