Medical Assistants play a vital role in the healthcare field by working collaboratively with a team in doctors’ offices, medical clinics, hospitals and specialty practices. Our Medical Assisting program provides students with the administrative and clinical skills necessary to deliver safe, quality care in ambulatory settings.
RN to BSN Program
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (RN to BSN) is designed for registered nurses looking to advance their careers. Our 13-month Bachelors of Science in Nursing program will broaden your understanding of best practices in nursing, and prepare you for leadership positions in which increasing levels of education are expected.
Associate Degree in Nursing
Sumner College’s Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is the only program in Oregon and Washington that doesn’t require prerequisite coursework. These courses are embedded in our 24-month program, allowing our graduates to start working in nursing in less time. We also allow students who have completed college-level courses at other institutions to transfer up to 25% of their credits.
Practical Nursing Program
Approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) and accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), the Practical Nursing Program from Sumner College is a 50-week diploma program. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared to sit for the National Council Licensure examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as a practical nurse.
Phlebotomy Technician Program
Our eight-week phlebotomy program will equip you with the skills you need to get started in this profession and launch your medical career. Under the guidance of expert instructors, you’ll be trained in multiple blood collection techniques, as well as EKG skills, anatomy and physiology and proper collection and handling of specimens Upon graduation, you’ll have the skills and knowledge you need to find work in a hospital, physician’s office, lab or donation center.
Nursing Assistant Program
If you’re looking for a career where you can make a difference in the lives of others, a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) may be perfect for you. CNAs and LNAs work alongside nurses and physicians to ensure the comfort and safety of people who are often at their most vulnerable. Through direct interaction, they are a vital link between nurse and their patients.
