#Hiring a Clinical Coordinator – Nursing Programs

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Clinical Coordinator for Nursing Programs
Supervisor: College President
Job Description of Clinical Coordinator:
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for acquiring and maintaining clinical sites for student clinical and preceptorship experiences. They work with the program director, faculty, preceptors, and coordinators to prepare, place, monitor, supervise, and evaluate students participating in clinical and preceptorship experiences. The Clinical Coordinator will identify, evaluate, contract with, and visit clinical sites on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications of Clinical Coordinator:
· Bachelor’s degree
· At least 2 years of experience in the Health Care Sector
· Working knowledge of MS Word
· Excellent communication skills
· Detail oriented
· Ability to interpret and explain preceptorship policies and procedures
· Computer skills – software & keyboarding required
· Ability to multitask
· Customer service skills
· Ability to display positive and professional attitude to students, staff, clinical sites, and faculty
· Must have a valid driver’s license and/or the ability to travel to clinical sites
Responsibilities and Duties of Clinical Coordinator:
· Manages affiliation agreements for every active site
· Places students in their clinical externship/practicum experience
· Provides students with clinical site information for clinical rotation, practicum, and/or externship
· Attends community meetings and networking opportunities to promote the college
· Locates and evaluates potential clinical sites
· Works with sites in a cooperative effort to provide quality experiences for students
· Properly responds to any issues that arise while the student is completing their externship/practicum
· Creates and fosters an atmosphere that is conducive to a high level of learning and student retention
· Performs structured orientations for all students entering their externship/practicum
· Ensures all correspondence with clinical sites is completed each term, including but not limited to letters of attestation, agreements, and site requirements
· Updates clinical rotation and practicum documents, policies, and procedures as necessary and upon approval of the Program Chair and President
· Updates students’ time in SIS with completed hours at practicum
· Assist in new faculty orientation for clinical rotation and practicum
· Maintains ongoing communication with site supervisors/coordinators
· Provides instruction and advising to students in accordance with policies and procedures of the site and of the college
· Works cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments
· Travels to clinical and preceptor sites, both in the area and outside of the area, as necessary
· Ensures compliance with academic and regulatory requirements
· Adheres to practical nursing faculty policies
· Continued professional development in field in which assigned to teach
· Serves as a role model to other faculty and students
Job Type: Full-time

- Monday to Friday

- Portland, OR 97220: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
