KATU Afternoon Live’s Chloe Carlson visits with Sumner College President, Joanna Russell | RN to BSN $5,000 Scholarship

Today on Afternoon Live, Chloe Carlson takes us to Sumner College where she spoke with the president of the college, Joanna Russell. According to Russell, the school was able to make a quick transition when the pandemic started last March, adjusting to a hybrid model of learning, having both online and on-campus classes while still maintaining COVID restrictions. For Sumner College, students are not just their GPA number when they are applying, rather the college looks at a number of factors for acceptance into their program. Right now the college is offering a $5,000 COVID scholarship for the RN to BSN class that is starting on April 26th. Besides the RN to BSN program, Sumner College offers several other programs including Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing, and an Associate Degree in Nursing. Unlike other schools, Sumner College has what they call rolling class starts, with new classes starting every 10 weeks. The college has a 100% graduation rate and believe that is due to the several programs offered to their students that help nurses to be successful not only in the classroom but later in their careers. If you are a registered nurse seeking your BSN and are interested in the $5,000 scholarship you can find more information for that scholarship or for all the nursing programs offered at Sumner College, by visiting the website www.sumnercollege.edu.
