Title: Nurse Educator

Position: Nurse Educator – On Campus

Supervisor: Department Chair

Job Summary:

The Nurse Educator will provide guidance to students during their labs and clinicals, deliver informative lectures and improve the curriculum design. The Nurse Educator will also assess and offer constructive feedback to students regarding their progress in the program.

The Nurse Educator will be a passionate, motivated and committed teacher who remains up to date with the latest nursing research and effectively communicates this knowledge to the students.

This is a full – time position.

Requirements:

  • Unencumbered current Oregon RN license
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing accepted, Master’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • At least 3 years nursing experience
  • Ability to engage students in active learning and critical thinking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Background in Medical Surgical

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guide and supervise students.
  • Engages students by creating and maintain a safe and encouraging learning environment.
  • Documents student’s attendance, participation, and post grade in accordance with college policy
  • Provides timely and constructive feedback
  • Support the delivery of the College mission, vision, program, and course outcomes
  • Participate in curriculum evaluation and planning
  • Meet in-service and professional development requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to the Board of Nursing Chapter 851 Division 21 Standards for Approval: Nursing Faculty
  • Other duties as assigned by the department head.
