Nursing Assistant Program

If you’re looking for a career where you can make a difference in the lives of others, a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) may be perfect for you. CNAs and LNAs work alongside nurses and physicians to ensure the comfort and safety of people who are often at their most vulnerable. Through direct interaction, they are a vital link between nurse and their patients.

CNA Duties Include:
• Assist with daily living activities (bathing, showering, toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding etc.)
• Meal Preparation
• Housekeeping/Laundry duties for all residents
• Properly transferring residents from bed to chair, chair to toilet, chair to vehicle etc.
• Monitoring any changes in resident’s health, and properly reporting changes as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of all residents
• Collaboration performance and ensuring you’re working as a team with other staff
• Provide companionship to residents (i.e. crafts, painting, sensory games etc.)
• Other clinical or non-clinical duties that may be assigned by the group home manager as necessary

In just four weeks, this program can prepare you to assist patients with tasks like bathing, feeding and dressing, as well as monitor vital signs, observe behavior, and promote comfort, safety and cleanliness. CNAs/LNAs can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities and in-home care.

Job Outlook

Licensed Nursing Assistants

Certified Nursing Assistants/Licensed Nursing Assistants are truly special people who genuinely care for others and take great pride in their work, making a valuable contribution to a patient’s comfort and safety when they are at their most vulnerable.
With their direct interaction to patients, CNAs are considered an essential link between the patient and the nurse. Employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 8 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations*

As the baby-boom population ages, nursing assistants will be needed to help care for an increasing number of older patients in nursing and residential care facilities. Older people are more likely than younger people to have disorders such as dementia, or to live with chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. More nursing assistants will be needed to care for patients with these conditions.

Our grads are working at the following:

  • Ensign Group
  • The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
  • Plaza Healthcare
  • Fellowship Square
  • Desert Vista
  • Brookdale
  • Pacifica Senior Living
  • Sante
  • Springdale Village
  • Legacy Home Care
  • Osborn Health & Rehabilitation
  • Apache Junction Healthcare
  • Banner Healthcare
  • Mesa Christian
  • Citadel
  • Banner Heart Hospital
  • Friendship Village

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of nursing assistants and nurse aides is expected to grow 17 percent nationally by 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations, due to growing elderly population.*
